ArcaOS

Arca Noae brings OS/2 into the 21st Century

ArcaOS is a more recent (2017) version of OS/2 that includes a brand-new installer and better support for modern hardware.

ArcaOS is not just a repackaged, re-branded OS/2 Warp distribution.

ArcaOS has undergone significant enhancements to address long-outstanding issues with prior OS/2 distributions, as well as to ensure its compatibility with the widest range of modern hardware available. Many portions of the OS have been completely rewritten to more fully leverage the power and performance of modern PCs.

While it may not capture the hearts of Windows and Mac users, it will allow people wanting to run OS/2 software to continue to do so and provides an alterative to running specialized Windows programs.

Replacing eComStation and OS/2 Warp

ArcaOS is a recommended update to both eComStation and OS/2 Warp.

There is no trial or demonstration version available. Check the system requirements or contact Arca Noae to discuss your hardware's suitability.
ArcaOS 5.0 will not migrate an existing OS/2 or eComStation installation. However, if you have a spare partition you can install ArcaOS 5.0 next to the current OS/2 installation.

The ArcaOS 5.0.2 bootable USB stick image allows you to create a bootable USB ArcaOS 5.0.2 installation stick without a running OS/2 system.
